PAINESVILLE, Ohio (WJW) -- A large house fire in Painesville Wednesday morning prompted a swift response from area fire crews and has closed a road in the area.
According to the City of Painesville, the fire at a two-story home along the 200 block of Mentor Avenue was reported before noon.

Crews from Painesville, Mentor and Chardon have responded to the scene.
Details about the severity of the fire and if anyone was home when the fire broke out is not known at this time.

Mentor Avenue from W. Washington Street to the W. Erie Street intersection is currently closed. The city is asking pedestrians and drivers to avoid the area as fire crews work to bring the scene under control.
