PAINESVILLE, Ohio (WJW) -- A woman was rescued from a river in Lake County Monday evening, the Painesville City Fire Department said in a statement.
The fire department was reportedly called to Grand River at Beaty Landing just before 5 p.m. for reports a kayaker was in distress.
A Lake MetroParks saw the woman in the swift water and was able to throw a rope out her while they waited for help.

Two Painesville firefighters arrived on scene and got into the river to rescue the woman who they said was "was clinging to a downed tree and losing strength." They pulled her to the river bank and waited for backup.
Firefighters said the woman was not injured in the incident and did not have to go to the hospital.
Firefighters warned others of the dangers of rivers during the spring.
"As a reminder to the public, please be aware of the dangers of fast-moving water in the Grand River, which can change and trap even the strongest swimmers with undertows and currents," Fire Chief Thomas Hummel Jr. said in a statement.
