PAINESVILLE, Ohio (WJW) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Painesville Police Department are teaming up for a sobriety checkpoint.
According to a press release, the checkpoint will take place on Friday, June 28 from 10 p.m. until midnight on US 20 in Lake County.
Motorists can also expect nearby "saturation patrols to aggressively combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes," according to the release.
“If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink," read the release.
In 1990, the Supreme Court upheld the use of sobriety checkpoints as long as they meet certain guidelines which include public notification.
